Late-night Return
Plan ahead

Lisbon Metro normally runs from 06:30 to 01:00. Check whether special Web Summit hours or shuttles are announced for 2026; do not assume a past edition’s service will run again. After late city events, a licensed taxi or ride-hailing app may be simpler.

Going to the city centre first?

From the airport, take the Red line to Alameda and change to the Green line for Baixa-Chiado or Cais do Sodré. For Rossio and Restauradores, change at São Sebastião to the Blue line. Oriente is a separate stop on the Red line for the conference. If you arrive late or with substantial luggage, compare a licensed taxi, an app ride and the official airport taxi voucher before choosing.

Public Transport Passes

In 2026, the Metro/Carris single ticket is €1.90, Metro Zapping is €1.72, a contactless bank-card Metro trip is €1.92, and the 24-hour Metro/Carris ticket is €7.25. The reusable navegante occasional card costs €0.50. Check the current fare and where your ticket is valid before buying.

A dedicated Web Summit pass was sold in 2025, but those dates and prices do not apply to 2026. Check the Metro's current fare page and any new event-pass announcement before relying on one. Our airport-to-city and public-transport guides cover the rest of your stay.

Luggage Storage

Where to Store Your Luggage

If you are arriving with a suitcase, arrange storage before going to the venue. Check Web Summit's 2026 venue rules for current bag limits and security procedures.

Luggage lockers are outside the Departures area of Terminal 1. Follow the airport signs and check the displayed tariff for the size and storage period you need.

Registration

Registration and Accreditation

Your ticket is available in the Web Summit app. You must show it to register and collect your accreditation before entering the venue; bring photo ID and follow the entry instructions for your ticket type. The organiser has not yet published reliable 2026 registration locations and opening hours in its public essentials guide, so check it again before your journey.

Before you leave

Download the app, open “My ticket”, confirm that your personal details match your ID and read any registration instructions sent by the organiser. Do not plan your arrival around last year’s airport desk hours.

Official ticket guidance
At the venue

Follow the signed registration route for your ticket category and allow extra time for security. Airport and Pavilhão de Portugal registration were used in earlier editions, but the 2026 locations and hours need confirmation from Web Summit.

Night Summit and 2026 Side Events

Night Summit is the organiser’s official after-hours networking programme. Its 2026 page describes Pavilion 5 as a social hub with meetups, speed networking and music. As of 30 September, the published schedule lists Late Night Summit at Time Out Market on 9 November (20:00–00:00) and Cais do Sodré on 10 November (21:00–00:00). Check the live programme for final times, venue details and any additional nights.

Lisbon after dark

Your ticket may include Night Summit access, but check your exact ticket and each gathering’s entry rules. Independent founder dinners and community meetups are separate events; we have not listed unconfirmed 2026 dates as official Web Summit events. For Cais do Sodré or Time Out Market, use the Green Metro line to Cais do Sodré while it is running, or plan a taxi or ride-hailing trip after hours.

Exploring Lisbon Beyond the Summit

If you have a free afternoon, take the Red Line from Oriente and change at Alameda or São Sebastião for the historic centre. Allow time for the transfer and for walking uphill once you arrive. Baixa and Chiado suit a short first visit; Alfama rewards a slower walk.

Baixa & Chiado

Lisbon's elegant and vibrant heart, filled with neoclassical squares, cafés, and shops. Don't miss Praça do Comércio, the Arco da Rua Augusta, and the Elevador de Santa Justa. Visit Convento do Carmo and stop by A Brasileira, the café where poet Fernando Pessoa used to write.

Alfama

The city's oldest and most traditional neighbourhood, a maze of narrow alleys and hidden courtyards. Visit the Castle of São Jorge, Sé Cathedral, and the viewpoints of Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol. Stay for dinner and enjoy a live Fado performance — a quintessential Lisbon experience.

Avenida da Liberdade

Lisbon's answer to Paris's boulevards, lined with designer stores, historic buildings, and shaded gardens. Enjoy rooftop drinks at Seen Lisboa or dinner at JNcQUOI or Taberna Anti Dantas.
