An early arrival or a late flight should not mean spending the day carrying a suitcase. Start by asking your accommodation whether storage is possible and when bags must be collected. Do not assume a short-stay apartment has a reception or a secure place to leave them.
Leave bags near your day’s route
For a few hours in the centre, a locker or staffed storage point near your final stop can be convenient. City Lockers lists Lisbon locations including Rossio Metro Station, Praça da Figueira and Santa Apolónia station. Opening hours differ: some locations operate around the clock, while others close overnight.
Choose the actual location before paying, then check bag dimensions, whether the price is per locker or per bag, and the collection deadline. “Near Rossio” can mean a different building from the railway station. Use the operator’s location page for the address and directions, and leave time to collect bags before your onward journey.
Store luggage at the airport
Lisbon Airport’s lockers are outside the Departures area of Terminal 1, according to ANA’s 2026 locker rules. The service is designed for 24-hour use, subject to operational interruptions. Check the tariff displayed at the lockers and choose the size and storage period you need.
This can suit a stopover that ends back at the airport. If you will spend your last day in the centre, city storage may avoid an extra trip just to retrieve your bags. These lockers are not the same as an airline’s checked-baggage service.
Have bags collected and delivered
LUGGit offers luggage collection, storage and later delivery in Lisbon. It can be useful when your accommodation and departure point are far apart. Enter the collection and delivery places, times and bag count to obtain a quote, and read the available service windows and conditions before booking.
Allow a sensible buffer before your flight or train. A collection service still needs an agreed handover; do not plan the delivery for the last possible check-in minute.
Before handing over your bag
Keep your passport, payment cards, medication and anything needed during the day with you. Save the booking receipt or locker access instructions somewhere you can retrieve them, and check what happens if you collect late. Prices, size limits and included cover vary, so compare the final booking terms rather than a headline “from” price.
